Remarkably many people are coughing and sneezing these days and do not feel so well. Are there a lot of colds around? Are we less resistant than before? What is going on? “Nothing”, says virologist Marc Van Ranst. “It’s always like this at this time of year. We are just rediscovering the common cold.” A sigh of relief. But the flu, it could be ugly. “We’ll have another pandemic in the worst case scenario, but nobody wants to hear that.”
