water points authorized or not for swimming in Meurthe-et-Moselle

The thermometer will rise significantly this week on the occasion of the 3rd wave of heat wave of the summer. Mercury is expected to reach 35 degrees in Nancy this Wednesday, 37 even this Thursday. A godsend for swimming lovers, expected in large numbers in the various water points in the department. Except that not everything is accessible, even in very hot weather.

Greater Nancy swimming pools

This summer is marked by the closure of several swimming pools in Greater Nancy. At present, the Tomblaine and Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy facilities are open, as is that of Laneuveville-devant-Nancy, a time closed but reopened since July 3. The Laxou swimming pool, on the other hand, is still closed for maintenance until September 4.

It is therefore sometimes necessary to turn to outdoor pools. And in particular the Deux Rives beach, which is celebrating its second summer on the shores of Meurthe until September 4th. The “Aquamobile” swimming pool is also being taken by storm this summer, in the Gentilly district.

Water bodies

It is when leaving Nancy that the search for a water point becomes a little more complicated. In Pont-à-Mousson, the Big Blue has been prohibited for swimming since June, to avoid the proliferation of cyanobacteria. As in Pierre-Percee, contaminated with algae. Bathers are prohibited, whether in the lake of the plain downstream, or in the large lake. In Damelevières, there is an outdoor pool open every day in the summer (paying).

It is therefore necessary to make the road towards the beach of madine lake, straddling the Meuse and the Meurthe-et-Moselle. On the other hand, be aware that it is not possible to cool off in the waters of the Moselle or in the Meurthe.
