Leslie Caron embodies the golden age of American cinema. The trained dancer appeared on numerous theater stages and appeared in a total of 45 films. The daughter of an American mother and a French father, she grew up in Paris. Her first film, “An American in Paris,” made her famous. The success continued with musical films such as “Daddy Langbein” with Fred Astaire or “Gigi”, which won several Oscars, and award-winning feature films such as “Lili” and “The Indiscreet Room”. Leslie Caron lived the Hollywood dream: she achieved international fame, was on the guest list of exclusive parties and had relationships with influential men. Her recently published memoir reveals not only the Hollywood glamor but also the dark side of the MGM studios. In it she talks about her incredible career and eventful private life, but also doesn’t hide how she struggled with depression in her later years and ultimately overcame it.
