The New Orleans Police Department issued an arrest warrant for wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (Cleveland Browns) for giving a security guard a slap on the buttocks in the LSU locker room while the team celebrated the title Monday night.
The NOPD public affairs officer, Juan Barnes, confirmed to ESPN that the security officer had filed the complaint.
The assault / assault arrest warrant was signed Thursday morning (local time).
In a statement Thursday afternoon, the Browns said, “We are aware of the incident and have contacted Odell and his agents on the matter. They are working with the appropriate authorities to properly address the situation. “

The maximum penalty in Louisiana for this offense is $ 1,000 and / or a six-month prison term.
Beckham was also seen giving money to the players after they beat Clemson. The LSU has informed the NCAA and the SEC of this incident.
