Warns against new Russian attack

– Russian troops are preparing an offensive operation in the east of our country. It will start in the near future, the president said in tonight’s video speech.

– They will literally complete and destroy the Donbas. Destroy everything that once gave glory to this industrial region. Now that the Russians are destroying Mariupol, they want to destroy other cities and communities in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, he said.

According to Zelenskyj, Russian attacks on Saturday killed five people and injured 15 in Kharkiv, the country’s second largest city. In the last four days, a total of 18 people have been killed and 106 injured in the city, the president said.

– Torture chambers are being built

– This is nothing but deliberate terror. Bombing and artillery against ordinary inhabited neighborhoods, against ordinary civilians, he says.

In the speech, he also accused Russian forces of committing human rights violations in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia in the south of the country.

– Torture chambers are built there. They kidnap representatives of local authorities and anyone considered visible locals. They blackmail teachers. They steal money saved up for the payment of pensions. Humanitarian aid is blocked and stolen. They create hunger, says Zelenskyj.

CNN writes that they can not verify the allegations of the Ukrainian president. The attacks by Russian forces have also continued this weekend in the Kyiv region.

Criticizes gun delays

With an impending offensive attack in eastern parts of the country, the president emphasizes that delays in arms shipments are not very welcome.

– Every single weapon delay, every single political delay is a permit for Russia to take more Ukrainian lives. This is how Russia interprets it. That should not be the case, says Zelenskyj in the speech, according to NTB.

A number of military experts have stated that Ukraine will need far more heavy weapons if it is to have a chance in the coming attacks. At the same time, the president thanked those who “help with everything they can.”

– But those who have the weapons and ammunition we need and who delay the supply, should know that the outcome of this war also depends on them, he said.
