Warning: Hepatitis A Virus Detected in Fresh Strawberries from Morocco – Chief Sanitary Inspectorate Issues Alert

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate has issued a warning regarding a batch of fresh strawberries from Morocco. The presence of the virus causing hepatitis A was detected in the fruits available in stores of a well-known chain.

Chief Sanitary Inspector was informed by the Early Warning System for Food and Feed about the detection of the virus causing hepatitis A (hepatitis A) in one batch fresh strawberries originating from Morocco – we read in the statement.

Consuming a product contaminated with this virus may be associated with the risk of hepatitis A – warns GIS.

Product name: Fresh strawberries 500 g.

Batch number: 0000/13-3120/2095.

Country of origin: Morocco.

Importer: Dai Fruits SL Av. Ojos Negros 41, Sagunto, Valencia, 46520, Hiszpania.

The product was marketed in Poland by two entities: Jeronimo Martins Polska SA street Żniwna 5 62-025 Kostrzyn and REDENBERG Sp. z oo street Zabrzańska 24 41-700 Ruda Śląska.

The product was probably on the market in Poland on March 11-12, 2024

GIS reported that the official food control authorities are investigating investigation in the case in question.

The inspectorate appealed to do not consume the product from the batch covered by the messageand in the event of symptoms characteristic of hepatitis A infection contact your doctor.
