Warner Bros Games (Batman Arkham) is finally no longer for sale

Warner Bros Games would no longer be for sale. AT&T was looking to part ways with the entity in early summer, but that would no longer be the case according to Bloomberg. The company eventually decided that it was too valuable. Indeed, the studios are planning to release big licensed games that can pay big in the years to come.

Warner Bros Games is no longer for sale! As rumors swirled about the future of the company, AT&T, the parent company, finally decided to say stop, according to Bloomberg. The entity that produces AAA video games would indeed be too valuable to be sold off to the highest bidder.

Warner Bros Games is an entity bringing together several studios around the world. These studios are at the origin of the games Batman Arkham, Shadow of Mordor, Lego or the titles stamped Harry Potter. It belongs to the British group AT&T, who according to The Information was looking to sell it in early summer.

AT&T has indeed a slate of $ 165 billion in debt. A studio sale could have bring him $ 4 billion. Microsoft, which is buying studios with a bang to include them in its plans for the next generation, would have been in the best position for a buyout. The rumors also evoked the names of Activision-Blizzard, EA or Take Two.

Big AAA games on the way

The point is Warner Bros. Games can still make AT&T money, a lot of money. An open-world Harry Potter game is currently being developed by Avalanche Studios (Mad Max) and could be a hit in 2021.

More so, Warner Bros Games unsheathed its next DC games not long ago during DC Fandom. Gotham Knights, first of all, a game mixing solo and cooperation, open world in the streets of Gotham City. Rocksteady, the creator of the Arkham games, is working on a Suicide Squad game, which remains for the moment very mysterious. It was indeed revealed only in a cutscene in CGI.

AT&T could therefore bet on its AAAs and get rid of other entities to hope to replenish its coffers. It would be a shame to get rid of the goose that lays the golden eggs, especially as its licensed games are eagerly awaited by fans.
