Warm rain of money – Surplus of 7.4 million euros flows into infrastructure and education

The deputy Mühldorf district administrator Ilse Preisinger-Sontag referred to some projects such as the expansion of the Mühldorf high school to G9 and other construction measures that are pending in the coming years. Paradoxically, pandemic-related effects also contributed to the good result.

Mühldorf – Ilse Preisinger-Sontag (CSU) sums up the presentation of the 2021 annual financial statements in the most recent district council as a “very good result, which is needed for future investments, not least in view of the price increases during construction”.

In the annual result, which was unanimously accepted by the district council, Markus Heiml from the Financial Management and Accounting department was able to report a surplus of around 7.4 million euros.

Pandemic effects contribute to the plus

The deputy district administrator, who represented Max Heimerl in the meeting due to illness, referred to some projects such as the expansion of the Mühldorf high school to G9 and other construction measures that are pending in the coming years.

Significantly higher key allocations are responsible for the good result. Paradoxically, pandemic-related effects also contributed to the increase: 300,000 euros more fines and higher real estate prices in the course of land sales, which brought in around 1.6 million euros more income.

Lower expenses at the job center

The job center also spent around 1.2 million euros less than planned. Significantly lower expenses were recorded for the 15 properties.

On the negative side, the youth welfare office needed around one million euros more; the inpatient accommodation of immigration cases in facilities that also have higher monetary rates are to be mentioned here.

Markus Heiml referred to a “structural problem”: On the one hand, the federal government is demanding ever higher criteria, but granting fewer grants, which leads to exploding costs, explains the treasurer. The bottom line, according to Heiml, is that the 7.4 million euros are much better than planned. But it is not possible to estimate how the economy will develop. The communities can continue to count on the concessions of the district.
