Warcraft III Reforged: Blizzard updates terms of use to control creatives – News

If the quasi-remake of Warcraft III is available since this morning, the original title, dating from 2002, had given birth to very many mods, some of which have become a genre in its own right, the MOBA.

Visibly aware of the financial windfall that passed under his nose at the time, and noting the success of Valve and Riot in the field, Blizzard has updated its Terms of use a few days ago, and this was noticed by PC Gamer. At first, Blizzard follows the path set by many others, reserving the right to prohibit and delete creations using other licenses.

Also, we note that all creations made from Blizzard games, directly related Warcraft III: Reforged, will automatically owned by the developer. Where Blizzard goes further than others is by stating that the studio will be the sole beneficiary of the creations, which he will automatically have the rights to. It means thatin principle, no new game will be able to emanate from Warcraft III Reforged, as did Dota in his days, and live your own life.
