According to the head of the Presidential Office, the timely delivery of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not give the Russians the opportunity to strengthen their positions in the occupied territories.
It is important for Ukraine to complete war with Russia for winter.
This was stated by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak in interview “NV”.
According to him, if this is not done, then the Russian invaders will have enough time to dig in and restore a stronger defense.
Yermak explained that the main goal of Ukraine is only to defeat the occupier, but for this the military needs enough weapons and equipment.
“They have their own character, they have their own professionalism. They all have, except for sufficient equipment, sufficient weapons. The main task of Lend-Lease is for us to get everything on time. It is very important for us not to enter in the winter. After the winter, when the Russians will have more time to dig in, of course, it will be more difficult. They are dragging us into this. It is very important for us not to give them such an opportunity,” Yermak emphasized.
Answering a question about the instruction of President Volodymyr Zelensky to de-occupy the south of the country and the possibility of doing this before the onset of winter, Yermak noted that Ukraine would be de-occupied, but it was impossible to specify the time frame for liberation from the invaders, since people’s lives are behind this.
“We have a great desire and we have an absolute understanding that this needs to be done. But this is a topic behind which people’s lives stand. Therefore, there is a desire, an absolute understanding that this needs to be done – and that’s the point. Let’s better rejoice if this happen,” he said.
According to the head of the Presidential Office, we are talking about the liberation not only of certain regions of Ukraine, but of the de-occupation of the entire Ukrainian territory seized by opponents.
“This is hard work. When you have an enemy against you, who has much more weapons and people. We must win, while saving as many of our people as possible,” Yermak said.
