Walcott praises his ‘amazing’ former Arsenal teammate who did his ‘easy job’ – Rayototal

Former Arsenal winger Theo Walcott reached out to his former teammate Oliver Giroud to tell him he was an ‘amazing player to play’.

Giroud spent five and a half years with the Gunners. They paid a fee of around £ 10 million to replace it from Montpellier.

The Frenchman was underrated during his time at Arsenal. He has scored 105 goals in his 253 games for North Londoners.

The top ten signings of the Premier League season so far …

During his time at the club, he won the FA Cup three times between 2013 and 2017. He joined London rivals Chelsea during the winter transfer window in 2018.

After a few successful years at Stamford Bridge, he signed for AC Milan on a free transfer this summer. He has scored two goals in his three Serie A games so far this season.

Quoted by HITC, Giroud recently appeared on talkSPORT. Walcott texted the show to tell his former teammate that he did his “easy job” on Arsenal:

“He’s a great player to play with, he made my job easy,” Walcott said.

Giroud responded by saying: ‘I thought we had such a good time together at Arsenal. I wish we could win the league, that’s my only regret about the Premier League, with Arsenal and Chelsea.

«I really enjoyed playing with him. He is a first-rate footballer and also a great man.

«I think I play football so that people remember me as a good player, but also as a good person. And it’s great meeting people like that.

On the other hand, former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has insisted that he still has “something to prove” before retiring:

“Right now I’m working on my coach badges and the club is helping me with that and I’m also helping some of the guys from the Academy.

“It’s definitely something I enjoy and maybe something to look at in the future, but for now I still want to play.

“I feel like I still have a lot to give and something to prove, so I don’t want to finish playing and start a coaching career.

“It’s good to see some old faces that I’ve spent a good part of my life with again.

“As for the physical condition, I am arriving and it is great to return to training with good players and the quality will only be beneficial for me to keep going.

“I am there [at Arsenal] until January and there is no club news, but hopefully something will come out then ”.
