The number of people requesting a stomach reduction has increased by 15 percent since the start of the corona crisis. That writes the US. Several studies have shown that people who are seriously overweight can become sicker from corona. For that reason, obese people want to lose weight quickly.
The operations for stomach reductions will not take place for the time being due to the high contamination figures, which means that the waiting lists are increasing even further. The NOS writes that at least 2 thousand obese people have submitted an application for gastric reduction, and hundreds are added every month.
Several doctors are now advocating medication that can ensure rapid weight loss. More should also be invested in sports and a personal coach.
