Vucic does not accept the decision of the Bulgarian parliament on Russian gas

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said that he will talk to the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, about the increase in gas transit fees, which were adopted by the Parliament in Sofia, the Serbian website Politika reported.

“This is a big problem for us, it will raise the price of gas dramatically, with an extra €100 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas. These are terrible increases, so we will talk to them. This should not apply to Serbia,” Vucic said.

The president of Serbia said that his country has prepared well for the winter and has 690 million cubic meters of gas in its gas storages.

“We’ve never had that because it’s never been possible to have that much gas reserves. Everything is paid for,” said Aleksandar Vucic.

A fee of BGN 20/MWh has been in effect since October 13. It concerns the import and transit of Russian “blue fuel”.

The Bulgarian Parliament adopted changes to the Law on Control over the Implementation of Restrictive Measures in view of Russia’s actions destabilizing the situation in Ukraine. They were published in yesterday’s issue of the State Gazette.
