Vote Now: Three New High-Level Service Bus Lines Connecting Eastern Val-d’Oise to Employment Area of Roissy and Villepinte

The County Council is asking residents to vote on the creation of three new bus lines. So-called “high level of service” buses. An investment of 200 million euros to link the east of the department to the employment area of Roissy and Villepinte.

This is called a high level of service bus, a BHLS. It runs on a dedicated track with priority traffic lights, it’s a kind of tram without rails. For seven years, line 20 has linked Villiers-le-Bel-Gonesse station to Villepinte in 20 minutes. A user who takes it daily for work confirms “It’s really fast (…) that’s why I take the bus”.

Three new high-level service lines are planned for 2029. Departing from Gouchainville, Villiers-le-Bel and Garges-Sarcelles, buses will connect the Villepinte Exhibition Center more quickly than today with, then, connections for classic buses to Roissy. “Charles-de-Gaulle airport is 13% of Valdoisiens who work there. Why is it only 13% when it is on our territory? It is precisely because there are problems of transport. These three BHNS lines will improve transport for the inhabitants of eastern Val-d’Oise.” assures Philippe Rouleau, vice-president of the Val-d’Oise departmental council, delegate for transport.

The Departmental Council announces travel times to Villepinte shorter by 10 minutes on average for an overall cost of 200 million euros. Waste of public money according to Bernard Loup du collective for the triangle of Gonessean ecologist who believes that existing but more frequent transport with extended schedules would have been more useful and less expensive.

“When we consult Transilien.com, we see that in the existing system, there is, using the train or the bus, a public transport offer to get to Roissy faster than what we are offered by high service level bus” he says. More buses will also serve the triangle of Gonesse supposed to be urbanized to the great despair of environmentalists. Residents can participate in the public consultation until Saturday.
