The government is considering raising the price of cigarettes to improve public health and imposing a health promotion charge on alcoholic beverages such as soju.
It also proposed a goal of increasing the sick-free health life to 73.3 years by 2030.

The government has set a goal to increase the sick-free life expectancy, which is 70.4 years old as of 2018, to 2.9 years old from 73.3 years old by 2030.
The life expectancy of the Korean people is 82.7 years, but it is said that they suffer from various diseases in old age to the extent that there is a difference of more than 12 years from their health life.
Accordingly, the government plans to increase cigarette prices and strengthen alcohol-related regulations to curb smoking and alcohol, which are representative health threats.

It is about 4,000 won per cigarette, but we set the goal to raise it to the OECD average of 7,000 won.
We are also promoting measures to prohibit the addition of flavoring substances during manufacturing and distribution, and completely ban indoor smoking in all buildings.
Through this, the government has also set a goal to significantly reduce the smoking rate of adult men and women from 36.7% and 7.5% in 2018 to 2030.
In order to improve the excessive drinking culture, we are reviewing ways to raise prices naturally by imposing a health promotion charge on alcoholic beverages.
For oral health, we plan to introduce a pilot project by dentists for 4th graders this year and strengthen visitation services to vulnerable groups such as long-term care patients.
In addition, we have decided to strengthen support for counseling treatment expenses with the goal of reducing suicide deaths per 100,000 people from 26.6 to 17.
In addition, we plan to reorganize the cancer screening system by supplementing the screening methods for each type of cancer, screening targets, and cycles, and to improve management centered on local clinics to prevent cardiovascular disease.
