Volvo announces shutdown of its factories in Europe and the United States

Volvo has decided to close its factories in Europe and the United States, in a move similar to global manufacturers due to the impact of the Corona virus on supply chains.

The Swedish automaker, said on Friday that a major plant in Gent, Belgium, which makes the “SUVXC40” car, will be closed until April 5.

She continued, “Other major locations in Gothenburg, Sweden and Charleston, South Carolina will be closed from March 26 to April 14.

And industrial companies continue to stop work around the world, such as “Airbus” and “Daimler” and others, where the outbreak causes the shortage of supplies and workers.

In contrast, the Volvo industry in China offers a ray of hope, as the company said the four factories in the Asian country were reopened.
