Leader after three victories in as many days, KAVB fell to Rezé (3-0). The Cloharsiens recorded their first defeat at Rezé, one of the favorites for the climb. Nothing to be ashamed of even if, in this bitter defeat, the Bretons showed signs of fragility.
From the outset, David Le Maslen’s players were shaken. Warned of the fast game played by this reserve of Rezé, resident of LAM, the Finistériens are unable to respond to the sustained pace imposed by the locals and Mouhaouir, their leader in attack. Martin, well served by Henry, answers him but too episodically to claim to come back in the sleeve. Finistériens, too feverish in reception, crack and let slip the set (25-15).
The outdated KAVB
More applied then, the Bretons finally compete (8-7). But they chase after the score and they end up exhausting themselves. The pierced counter does not facilitate the defensive task and the many disagreements are costly to the KAVB which takes the water (18-12). Gaudel wakes up his team with a thunderous passage to serve (five points in a row). The Cloharsiens regained their temper and equalized at 21-21. But the rezéen then makes the difference and the KAVB finds itself led two sets to nothing (25-22).
Kloar Aven tries to find cohesion and defensive solidity but David Le Maslen’s players make too many mistakes to stop the confidence of Rezé who unfolds his volley under the thumb of Martin Repak, former pro and Czech international passer. The gap widens (17-9) and the KAVB, too inconstant and without solutions, bow three innings to zero (25-17).
