Vogue Williams accuses beauty clinic of using her image without permission

Irish model and television personality Vogue Williams is accusing a beauty chain, for which she was an ambassador, of using her picture without her permission. Williams claims that the company has ignored her legal letters demanding that they remove her image from their promotional material. The dispute has raised questions about the use of celebrity endorsements and the legal rights of those endorsing products. In this article, we examine the details of the case and explore the broader implications for the beauty industry.

Vogue Williams Accuses Thérapie Clinic of Using Her Image without Consent

Vogue Williams, a hit podcaster and influencer, has accused Thérapie Clinic of continuing to use her image to promote themselves despite being sent legal letters telling them to stop. Thérapie Clinic offers a range of beauty treatments from hair and fat removal to cosmetic injections and has more than 70 branches in the UK and Ireland. Williams was previously a brand ambassador for Thérapie, appearing in videos and other promotional campaigns as far back as 2017. However, it appears they have now fallen out.

On Saturday, the Dublin-born DJ (37) posted a picture of one of the chain’s locations which is toon to open, with a floor-to-ceiling image of her outside it. But according to Williams, Thérapie has been continuing to use pictures of her without permission. In the same Instagram story post, the radio DJ asked her one million followers to send her pictures if they see her photo on any other Thérapie Clinic outlets.

“My image is being used without my consent. I have asked repeatedly and sent legal letters which have been ignored by Thérapie Clinic. If you see my face on the front of their premises, please send me the images. They are not allowed to do this. I have nothing to do with them,” Williams said.

As a busy working mum, laser hair removal just makes self-care so much easier. I cannot wait to go on my next holiday. I cannot recommend their service and their clinics more.

Williams and comedian Joanne McNally, with whom she hosts the enormously successful My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, begin a 28-date tour of the UK and Ireland next month. Their tour includes venues such as Dublin’s 3Arena and the London Palladium. Moreover, the businesswoman is also playing several nights in Dublin’s Vicar Street with husband and co-host of her other podcast, Spencer Matthews, with whom she has three children, Theodore (4), Gigi (2), and Otto (11 months).

Thérapie Clinic is yet to respond to Vogue’s allegations. Their YouTube channel still has an endorsement from Williams in 2021, where she talked about her favourite features of Thérapie and how she is excited for her laser hair removal treatment for summer.

Regardless of the outcome of this situation between Williams and Thérapie Clinic, it highlights the importance of obtaining permission before using images of any individual in association with a business. Companies need to be extremely mindful of the legal implications and consequences of using someone’s image without their authorization.

Thérapie Clinic is an established business, and this situation is a reminder of the importance of ethical conduct in advertising and marketing. This incident will create an uneasy relationship and might affect Thérapie Clinic’s reputation. Understandably, it is essential for any business to monitor its marketing materials and ensure that it obtains explicit permission from any persons included in such materials.

In summary, Thérapie Clinic’s failure to obtain permission to use Williams’ image to promote their business has led to a public relations disaster that will ultimately impact their integrity and reputation. The use of any individual’s image, without their explicit permission, for commercial purposes would serve as a reminder of the need for ethical practice in marketing and advertising.

In conclusion, Vogue Williams has voiced her disappointment and frustration with the beauty chain that she was once an ambassador for. Accusing them of ignoring legal letters and using her image without permission, this serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting the intellectual property of individuals, particularly those who have worked tirelessly to build their personal brand. As the fashion and beauty industry continues to evolve, let this be a lesson for companies to prioritize transparency and ethical practices when representing their brand ambassadors. Let us hope that this incident propels the industry towards a more responsible and respectful future.
