Vodafone plans 10 GB data upgrade for existing Red Tarif customers

The mobile operator Vodafone plans to improve older tariffs from 2016 and 2017 and to offer them significantly more data volume. However, according to the first reports, the whole thing is a paid update.

At least that reports Caschy on his blog, He was therefore provided with information according to which existing customers of certain Vodafone Red tariffs could receive a 10 GB data package for five euros more per month. That would certainly be a welcome extra for many customers. “Customers with Red 2016 S, M, L, XL and XXL as well as Red 2017 XS, S, M, L and XXL are entitled,” writes Caschy. The information comes from internal Vodafone circles and is not yet official – there could be changes until the campaign starts.

Contract extension required

He further reports that Vodafone plans to notify existing customers of the possible extra data package from January 3, 2020. As an upgrade, the offer is subject to the condition of the contract being extended, so if you accept it, you will extend your contract accordingly. It should therefore be quite likely that Vodafone will only offer it to customers who are due for an extension – those who have just renewed should not be able to benefit from it.

Vodafone’s current Red tariffs start at 4 GB LTE a month for 29.99 euros, then the data volume doubles to 8 GB for 39.99 euros and 16 GB for 49.99 euros. These three offers are currently available in the first six months of the contract for EUR 19.99, from the seventh month the price increases to the monthly prices mentioned. You save up to 180 euros. All tariffs offer telephone and SMS flat rates as well as a Vodafone Pass, which does not count the data volume as a chat, social, music or video pass for corresponding applications against the monthly volume.
