Virgil van Dijk wears OneLove band against France: ‘We are against all forms of racism and discrimination’ | Dutch football

Van Dijk also wanted to wear the OneLove band during the World Cup in Qatar, but world football association FIFA did not give permission. Almost all the captains of clubs from the Eredivisie and Kitchen Champion Division drew attention to the KNVB’s OneLove campaign last weekend. Only Orkun Kökcü (Feyenoord) and Redouan El Yaakoubi (Excelsior) wore a custom band.

France also draws attention to the International Day against Racism and Discrimination (21 March) on Friday. The campaign of the French Football Federation, ‘Une seule couleur celle du maillot’, will be emphatically visible in Stade de France. The French footballers pose just before the game with a canvas on which the same text is written, which means ‘only one colour, that of the shirt’.
