New York has a new celebrity.
A rat has gone viral after being caught dragging a donut in one of the New York City subway stations.
In a video posted on October 25 by @smallredcar, Carly Hittner, the rat is seen dragging the donut and then gives rise to an unexpected twist: a second rat approaches and they both share the candy.
“At the rate donut “He treats his wife better than half of you rats in this city,” was Hittner’s message when sharing the video.
The video has more than 2.7 million videos and for many, it is reminiscent of the 2015 viral video of a rat carrying a large slice of pizza.
In interview with TODAY.comHittner said she took the video on Sunday, October 22, when she and her boyfriend were heading home after a late-night dinner.
“We see this rat trying to carry something that’s bigger than its entire body and you think, ‘Oh my God, it’s like a rat with pizza!'” he added. “And then as we continued to watch it, that initially caught our interest, and then it became this love story that was kind of fun and intriguing to watch unfold.”
