“First, I apologize if there are visitors who are not comfortable but there are things that need clarification, from the start it was written there that using a professional camera for any photo session there is a certain fee because Taman Sari is special case,” said Bendara via zoom, Monday (14/3/2022).

Bendara explained, for photo sessions and pre-wedding photos for IDR 250,000. The price is for domestic tourists. As for foreign tourists there are separate rates.

According to him, each tourist attraction has its own provisions in determining rates for visitors who bring professional cameras. Thus, the rates set between locations will vary.

Not only the location, the type of photo session also determines the rate. Like pre-wedding photos, the rates will be different from product photos.

“There (Taman Sari) is written on the pre-wedding photo or photo session for IDR 250,000 for the domestic one. The international price is there,” he said.

“Standards for tourist objects have different prices, for example mobile phones, pre-wedding photos, products or advertisements and so on. Of course, they have their respective standards or policies,” he added.

Bendara gave an example as in Prambanan which set a price of Rp. 250,000 to Rp. 300,000 for visitors who brought professional cameras.

When asked about the standard of Taman Sari in assessing the cameras brought by visitors, Bendara admitted that he would evaluate them. Because according to him, many non-professional photographers bring professional cameras and vice versa, professional photographers only need a device to take pictures.

“We need to update the types because there are also professional photographers who can use cellphones. Cell phones are quite sophisticated, enough for professional photography,” he said.

Head of the Taman Sari Tourism Unit, Raden Mas (RM) Bambang Prastari, added that cameras that are included in the professional criteria are cameras that are commonly used for photo sessions, be it pre-wedding, wedding, or product photos.

“DSLR goes to cameras that pay more. Because honest or not the visitors themselves cause us to make policy extra cash. I found many in other tourist attractions, pre-wedding photos of up to Rp. 3 million were paid without complaint,” he said.
