FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met with United States (US) President Joe Biden at a dinner at the White House, Washington DC, United States, Thursday (12/5/2022) evening local time or Friday (13/5/2022) morning Indonesian time.
Quoted from a release from the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Jokowi arrived at the White House, Washington DC, on Thursday (12/5) at around 17.20 local time.
At the dinner at the White House, Jokowi was present with the leaders of other ASEAN countries.
Jokowi was immediately greeted by Biden who then shook hands and took a group photo.
From the video that went viral on Twitter social media, after the joint photo, Joe Biden immediately approached the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Hassanal Bolkiah.
It seems that the number 1 person in the Republic of Indonesia seems to have been ignored by Biden.
The photo was also spread on social media twitter. Warganet was busy commenting on the photo.
One of them is senior economist, Rizal Ramli.
Rizal said he was concerned about Jokowi who seemed to have no power in front of the American President.
He also said that Jokowi did not understand geopolitics, so he seemed to be ignored.
“Why are you so mad? If the President of the Republic of Indonesia is sophisticated and understands geopolitics, he is able to fight for non-aligned principles, he certainly won’t be ignored like this, how come he’s lost,” Rizal said, quoted from his personal twitter, Saturday (14/5/2022).
