CLEVELAND, KOMPAS.TV – The virtual world was shocked by the words of the Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, during the presidential candidate debate United States of America (US) at Cleveland, Tuesday (29/9/2020). The reason is, Biden say the word “Insha Allah”, A phrase often used by Muslims.
In the debate, moderator Chris Wallace asked US President Donald Trump, “Can you tell us, how much did you pay federal tax in 2016 and 2017?”
“Millions of dollars,” replied Trump.
“You pay millions of dollars?” moderator Wallace asked again to be sure.
“Millions of dollars!” assertive Trump again.
“So not $ 750?” Wallace asked.
Then Biden interrupts the conversation Trump and Wallace by saying,
“When? Insha Allah?”

Quoting from islam.nu.or.id, the word “insha Allah” literally means “if Allah wills”. Actually, this is a tayyibah phrase that contains education for those who pronounce it, as a form of humility. We cannot rely on our own strength when we make a promise, because there is a power greater than ourselves, namely the power of Allah.
