Violent Storm Causes Damage Across Province – Fire Department Responds to Multiple Calls

MIDDELBURG – The fire department was sent to various places in the province on Monday afternoon and evening after reports of storm damage. Due to the stormy weather, the KNMI had announced a code yellow. All warnings have now been withdrawn.

At a building on Noordstraat in Terneuzen, part of the chimney blew loose around 1:35 p.m. The Terneuzen fire brigade made the situation safe again with the help of an aerial work platform. At about the same time, reports came from Kleiweg in Vlissingen, Van Kleffenslaan in Middelburg and Weeldeweg in Burgh-Haamstede, around 1:45 p.m.

A tree had blown down in Borgh-Haamstede and the fire brigade could easily put it in a safe place.
