A 41-year-old man who was wandering alone in a daze on 30 December 2020 was taken to the emergency room of the Cricqueboeuf hospital (Calvados), near Deauville. Refusing to see a doctor and leave the scene, he was so virulent that when staff tried to pin him on a stretcher, he spat in the face of a paramedic and bit his hand.

The hospital worker reported 2 bite wounds (3 days of ITT). The individual will regain calm after administering a sedative.

5.5 g of heroin thrown on the ground

The 40-year-old was heard by the police on June 21, 2022. He not only disputes the facts, but claims to be himself a victim of violence by hospital staff. He admits that he is angry because, according to him, he has been refused treatment.

Eventually, he admits he bit the nurse’s hand. Coincidentally, the man was arrested on June 19 – 2 days before his hearing – after throwing a 5.5g packet of heroin on the ground under the eyes of the police. He was tried for these two cases on Thursday, November 3, 2022.

He admits to having “a little” abused

After the prosecutor reproached him for his behavior in the hospital, even though he was about to be treated and hospitalized for free, the defendant believes that he abused “a little”. Regarding his addiction to heroin which, according to him, represents a monthly budget of 200 euros, he explains that “the problem is that it is not expensive”.

The man has an irregular legal history: 10 mentions in his record before 2012, then another 2 after a minimum of 5 years. He was sentenced to 4 months of imprisonment with a suspension of probation for 2 years. He will have to pay 400 euros to the ambulance driver for his non-pecuniary damage and 500 euros pursuant to article 475-1 of the criminal code.
