“I was Vinnetou’s sister,” the French actress Marie Versini, who became famous in the role of Nsho-chi in the 1960s, called her biography. Today it celebrates its 80th birthday. She was born on August 10, 1940 in Paris, where her family came from Corsica.

Already at the age of 17, she became a member of the important Comédie-Française Theater. In 1963, she won an audition for the role of Apačka Nšo-chi in the film Vinnetou, which ensured her great fame, followed by a few other Mayans. In the 70’s and 80’s she played mainly on television. She ended up in 1984 to take care of her 22-year-old husband, screenwriter and director Pierre Viallet; he died at the age of 94 in 2013. That year she remembered her famous role at the Trutnov festival, alongside Vinnetou – Pierre Brice († 86). She spent last birthday on the hospital, suffering several fractures in the fall.
