Vincent Kriechmayr feels comfortable in the role of a ski professional

Linz – The Austrian ski racer Vincent Kriechmayr can look back on a more than successful Ski World Cup season 2020/21. In addition to winning the small Super-G crystal ball, he won the World Cup gold medal in both speed disciplines in Cortina d’Ampezzo in northern Italy. The 29-year-old from Upper Austria hardly dared to dream of such successes.

The ski racer likes to step on the gas and is therefore also looking for risk. He states that if his outfitter offered him a ski that was a second faster, he would accept it immediately. Nevertheless, all safety precautions must be taken. Regarding his Styrian friend Michaela Heider, who is also a ski racer, Kriechmayr says that he does not want to interfere here, as both have good and experienced trainers.

The Upper Austrian also enjoys the collective life in the ski racing circus and his good fortune to earn money here. It is not a given that you can earn good money with your passion. With Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, the speed king of the ÖSV team, who remained modest despite all his achievements, would not swap. He is also by no means jealous of the huge sums of money that the Portuguese or Argentine kicker, for example, earn. Because they are always in the spotlight and in public all over the world. It is a plus point that ski racing is not that popular and that when he is out and about outside of Austria he can sometimes relax undetected.
