Vince McMahon is stepping down from his role as chairman of TKO, the parent company of the wrestling organization WWE, which he himself co-founded.
This is reported by several American media.
The background for the decision is a lawsuit from a former employee who claims to be exposed to sex trafficking, abuse and sexual assault.
McMahon denies the allegations.
“I stand by my previous statement that the lawsuit is full of lies, obscene fabrications that never happened, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth,” he said in a statement Friday night.
He still chooses to retire in rep sect for WWE and TKO, the statement further states.
The lawsuit is directed against McMahon, a former WWE manager, and the WWF as an organization.
