It was one of the sparks that helped raise tension, the gold of the last explosive city council of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges. The sale of a common property to the Federation of Turkish Cultural Centers, for the use of the Belle Etoile association from Villeneuvoise, had bristled with opposition, with some worried about the potential arrival of a new mosque. “No, we are a cultural association, there is no question of a mosque at all,” replied Cemal Ozder, vice-president of the Belle Etoile association. “We have been in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges for 5-6 years.
