This Thursday, rider Jack Bauer suffered a terrible fall during the 18th stage between Lourdes and Hautacam. The New Zealander found himself stuck between a motorbike and a car and couldn’t avoid the collision.
There’s not enough room for everyone on the road, and it’s the BikeExchange team rider who has paid the price. Jack Bauer was at the back of the pack behind a UAE team car and close to a motorcycle. Approaching a narrowing of the road, the New Zealander finds himself trapped and cannot avoid falling.
At the entrance to this village, the car in front of Jack Bauer has no choice but to brake, surprising the rider and the motorbike next to him. The motorcycle then unbalances the cyclist who violently hits the rear of the car. The shock is quite impressive.
A few meters in front of him, Nils Eekhof also found himself on the ground after also hitting a motorcycle. Very angry after the accident, Jack Bauer was however able to leave, just like Nils Eekhof.
