The incident took place in the province of Manabí, in the midst of a worrying wave of attacks.
In the midst of the wave of violence that hit Ecuador in recent days, a man from the province of Manabí, in the west of the country, was saved from the killing of a group of criminals in an alley.
The event, which took place last Thursday evening, was filmed by a surveillance camera. The video shows how a man, who was being chased in his white car, quickly exits the vehicle after being cornered on a dead end street.
As soon as he leaves his car, pursuers start shooting at him. To protect his life, man runs at full speed towards a bridge that crosses what appears to be a river.
Realizing that they have missed their target, the criminals decide to shoot at bulletthat misses the target and ends up hitting near the abandoned vehicle.
Hours after the accident, it became known that the man could escape the attack unscathed and who was rescued by the Judicial Police. While two of the criminals were arrested by officers, seizing two 2.23 caliber rifles, a machine gun and a grenade, according to refer local media.
In these days in Ecuador there have been more than 18 terrorist attacks, attributed to drug offenses. Three provinces are currently in a state of emergency: Guayas, Esmeraldas and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.
