CCTV cameras in the capital often help to catch offenders at the time of the crime, but unfortunately do not always punish them. Police officers recorded the theft with the help of cameras and a moment later detained the garnadze himself, but, unfortunately, the villains soon had to be released, the program “Degpunkta” reported.
On the night of the holiday, the employees of the city video surveillance center in Livu Square noticed a young man sleeping on a bench. Realizing that nothing was wrong with him at that time, the inspectors decided to look around – and I must say, this time not in vain. Only a moment after the camera slipped to the side bench, it was discovered that another sleeping holidaymaker was already surrounded by a bunch of Old Riga plenum and idle people.
One person sitting next to a foreign citizen, as it turned out, looked at his pockets and took out his personal belongings. One could see that in a cell phone as well. Our employees immediately announced this to the nearest crew, ”says Jevgēņijs Platais, Head of the Operational Management and Safety Supervision Department of RPP.
However, disappointment soon followed, because despite the fact that the theft was even filmed – this time the garnadzis will escape punishment. The victim was neither willing nor able to get involved with the police and paperwork.
