Surveillance footage released by the FDNY shows the moment someone threw a Molotov cocktail at a Brooklyn deli and two men rush out of the flames to save their lives.

The video that was published on the FDN website shows the massive explosion and how employees leave the back of the store, in the middle of the fire, managing to escape the accident for seconds.

The Daily News reported that 38-year-old Mangal allegedly carried out the fierce attack at NR Rock Deli in Bedford-Stuyvesant, after having an argument with one of the employees. according to the FDNY and law enforcement sources.

A second surveillance video is also shared on the FDNY Facebook page, where the suspect is seen dropping the first bomb and, not satisfied with the first explosion, prepare a second bomb. However, another man who was there, took it off, avoiding a tragedy because, a few seconds later, it is seen how the two employees leave the store, through the same door through which the attacker was going to throw the other bomb.

The store workers fled, but it is known that one of them suffered injuries, although not seriously.

Joel Mangal was arrested by the FDNY fire chiefs and charged with arson, assault, reckless danger, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal acts. The case will be prosecuted by the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, the fire department commissioner said.

FDNY reported that firefighters were called at 7:53 a.m., and it took them only three minutes to get to the scene. “The rapid response allowed firefighters to quickly control the incident and provide medical treatment to a civilian with non-life-threatening injuries,” the department posted on its social media.

Nigro also reported that FDNY will continue to work together with state and federal partners to bring those who use fire as a weapon against New Yorkers to justice.
