This Saturday evening was played the return leg of the promotion-relegation play-offs between Ligue 2 and the National. Niort, however badly started, finally knew how to protect his place in Ligue 2 to the detriment of a rise from Villefranche.
Beaten 3-1 in the first leg, the Niortais won 2-0 in the return, at home. Villefranche held on for a long time before breaking down twice at the end of the match, conceding goals in the 78 ‘and the 81’ by Tom Lebeau and Olivier Kemen. Niort will therefore not support Chambly and Châteauroux in National 1, just as Villefranche will not support Bastia and Quevilly-Rouen in Ligue 2.
