Concerned citizens and consumers have one this week created online petition, in which they want to raise theft and disturbances in parcel services in the Netherlands and Suriname. According to them, stealing from boxes and breaking open packages delivered for shipment or received in Suriname seems to be more the rule than the exception.
The initiators of the petition argue that far too little is done in both the Netherlands and Suriname to prevent theft at parcel services. They want immediate action and propose a number of measures.
The petition and the number of signatures (supporters) of the petition will be offered to the various parcel services in Suriname and the Netherlands and the Surinamese Ministries of Trade, Industry and Tourism and Justice and Police.
