The coronavirus pandemic has exceeded 94 and a half million people infected after registering more than 614,000 cases in the last hours and after exceeding two million deaths on Friday, according to the last update this Sunday of the balance offered by Johns University Hopkins.

Specifically, according to the entity, a total of 94,501,892 people have suffered from the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic – 614,657 more than on Saturday – and 2,022,279 people have died due to the disease, 12,967 of them in the last 24 hours. On the other hand, 52,014,151 people have recovered from COVID-19 to date.

The United States continues to be the most affected country in total figures, with 23.7 million cases and 395,851 deaths, while behind India, with 10.5 million cases and 152,274 deaths, and Brazil, with 8.4 million cases and 209,296 deaths, respectively.

In fourth place in terms of number of cases is Russia, with 3.5 million cases and 64,134 deaths, while the United Kingdom is in fifth place with 3.3 million infections and 88,747 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

In the range between two and three million cases are France (2,931,686), Turkey (2,380,665), Italy (2,368,733), Spain (2,252,164) and Germany (2,038,645), which has exceeded this threshold this Friday. In the range between one million and two million are Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Poland, South Africa, Iran, Ukraine and Peru.

Behind are the Netherlands, Indonesia, the Czech Republic, Canada, Romania, Belgium, Chile, Iraq, Israel, Portugal, Bangladesh, Sweden and Pakistan, which are between 500,000 and a million infections.

For their part, the Philippines, Switzerland and Morocco have confirmed between 400,000 and 500,000 cases, while Austria, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Hungary, Japan and Jordan have registered between 300,000 and 400,000 infections since the start of the pandemic.

Between the 200,000 and 300,000 cases are Panama, Nepal, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Lebanon, Georgia, Ecuador, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Belarus, Slovakia, Kazakhstan and Bulgaria.

Likewise, between 100,000 and 200,000 are the Dominican Republic, Denmark, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Tunisia, Ireland, Lithuania, Armenia, Kuwait, Egypt, Malaysia, Moldova, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Guatemala, Slovenia, Greece, Qatar, Burma, Honduras , Oman, Ethiopia, Paraguay, Venezuela, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nigeria, Libya and Algeria.

For its part, China, the country in which the pandemic originated, has 97,776 infected and 4,797 fatalities, as reported by Johns Hopkins University on its website.
