The South African international winger or rear of Rugby Club Toulonnais, Cheslin Kolbe released his test counter against La Rochelle, Saturday afternoon at the Stade Mayol.
The latter scored a double so a magnificent second try after a small kick from above superbly received behind the Maritime defense.
Asked after the meeting, Cheslin Kolbe explained that arriving at a new club injured did not really help him. Extract:
“It’s difficult for me to arrive at a new club injured. It’s not the best way to start. I’m not just trying to pass the test line. I like to create for the players around me. That’s what makes me happy. Scoring a try is a bonus. »
For his part, Baptiste Serin believes that the Springbok is a player who is very important in the Toulonnais group. Extract:
“He is someone very important to us who has never experienced this kind of situation, namely playing at the bottom of the rankings. He works a lot and he does a lot of shadow work. If the group is confident, wingers and defenders touch balls and score tries. Against La Rochelle, we were a little more confident than usual and Cheslin enjoyed himself, I think. So I’m very happy for him and for the group. It is important. »
Finally, manager Franck Azéma affirms it: Cheslin Kolbe has released himself against La Rochelle. Extract:
“It’s good to break the lock, that’s what you want when you’re a try scorer. When you don’t score, you start to have doubts. Against La Rochelle, he must have felt liberated for sure. »
