From July 7 to September 15, every Wednesday evening on the AB dam you will be able to get acquainted with global news and the latest trends in the world of video art. Viewers will be offered a series of eleven diverse events, which will take place on July 7 at 19 will be opened by the selection of the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival.
Also this year, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the usual course of the festival, prohibiting the participation of foreign artists and experts in lectures and master classes, but the format of the festival has been adapted to the current conditions and in cooperation with partner festivals has become special. As a result of many years of cooperation, the festival program will consist of selections from prominent forums such as the Japan Media Art Festival, ARS Electronics, Oberhausen International Short Film Festival and AG short film. For the first time, the program includes a selection from the Turkish Video Art Festival, as well as specially created video selections from the festival. On September 15, the festival will end with a program that will combine works from the Latvian video art archive.
Movies will be shown in the original language with English subtitles, admission to the screenings is free. Entry to the examinations will be allowed only with a valid Covid-19 certificate, which confirms vaccination against Covid-19 or confirms the fact of illness.
