Jeangu Macrooy thinks he could have won the Eurovision Song Contest this year, the 26-year-old singer said in an interview in The Parool.
Macrooy would hit the Netherlands this year with its number Grow during the song festival in Rotterdam, but due to the corona virus he has to shift attention to next year.
“According to the bookmakers, we were the underdog. But I was really confident that we would create something beautiful,” Macrooy tells the newspaper. “If people then recognize the universal emotion through the screen, it could well have been a profit.”
