VIDEO. Another great assist from Mika Godts: Belgian top talent perfectly directs the goal of troubled Ajax

On the 28th matchday in the Eredivisie, Ajax was unable to keep the three points against Go Ahead Eagles on Thursday evening. The team from Amsterdam were heading for an economical 1-0 victory in the Johan Cruijff Arena, but still had to swallow an equalizer in minute 92: 1-1.

Mika Godts started for the second competition match at Ajax and thanked his trainer John van ‘t Schip for the trust. From the left flank, the young Belgian sent a cross towards the far post, where Anton Gaaei made it 1-0 with a beautiful volley.

Godts came to the side on the hour mark and saw from the bench how his team handed over the victory. Goalkeeper Diant Ramaj released a cross from the visitors, Bas Kuijpers (90.+2) gratefully accepted the gift and placed the ball exactly in the corner. For the visitors, Thibo Baeten played 82 minutes, Xander Blomme remained on the bench.

Earlier, RKC Waalwijk and Almere City did not score: 0-0. Dario van den Buijs and Chris Lokes started in the starting line-up, Thierry Lutonda replaced the injured Aaron Meijers after nineteen minutes and Zakaria Bakkali came on as a substitute ten minutes before the end. Idris Takidine remained on the bench. Milan Corryn also did not come on for the visitors.

Ajax is fifth in the Dutch top division with 45 points, Go Ahead seventh with 41 units. Almere City consolidates its twelfth place with 32 points, Waalwijk remains fifteenth with 24 units.

Feyenoord is doing a bad job

On the 28th matchday in the Dutch Eredivisie, Feyenoord did not get further than a 0-0 draw on the field of last-place FC Volendam.

The current national champion is therefore doing a bad job in the title battle and has already had to concede nine points to leader PSV. With six matchdays to go, the Eindhoven team has 75 points, nine more than the Rotterdam team’s 66.

Despite the good draw, FC Volendam retains the red lantern and seems unable to avoid relegation. The ‘New Orange’ has sixteen points, eight fewer than Excelsior, the first team in a safe haven.
