Garcia was set to fight for the World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight title in New York, but missed weight before the fight. However, the fight with his peer Devin Haynie took place, but was no longer classified as a title fight.

The 25-year-old Garcia had no doubts about his success before the fight. He made a bet on himself for two million dollars. Thus, he won 12 million, or about 11.2 million euros.

However, Garcia’s joy was somewhat overshadowed by his lack of weight. Otherwise, he would also have the prestigious WBC belt in his possession. In order for the fight to happen, Garcia also had to part with more than $600,000 he had to pay Haynie to enter the ring.

During his career, Garcia has 25 wins in 26 fights, while Haynie suffered his first loss in 32 fights.
