Puerto Rican model Jirau appeared alongside 17 other women promoting a new collection of the brand called Love Cloud. The group consists of professional and non-professional models. Famous faces include models Hailey Bieber and Taylor Hill.

Valentina Sampaiová, who became the first openly transgender model of the lingerie brand in 2019, also joined the campaign.

Jirau has been modeling since 2019. In February 2020, she became one of the few models with Down Syndrome to attend New York Fashion Week. Through her social media accounts, she emphasizes that her goal is to encourage others to follow their dreams.

“I always say that there are no limits inside and outside to motivate people to break their own limits,” Jirau writes on her website.

The new diverse campaign is part of Victoria’s Secret’s ongoing attempts to rework its “sexy brand” image, which it has cultivated for decades. After criticism and opposition to inclusion, the brand has in the past even been forced to cancel its traditional and highly anticipated television fashion show.
