Vettel switch to Aston Martin for Coulthard “an option”

Vettel has to leave Ferrari at the end of the season after six years. The future of the 32-year-old German is open, an early career end is not excluded. In 2021, Stroll’s current Team Racing Point, for which his son Lance also drives, will become Aston Martin’s racing team, which has previously been the title sponsor of Vettel’s ex-team Red Bull Racing. For Vettel, Coulthard can imagine more than the role of a pilot. The former Red Bull pilot raised a speculative question: “Will he go to Aston Martin, join as a partner, and begin another chapter in his career?”

Alternative options for Vettel are rare. Recently there was much speculation about a possible change to series world champion Mercedes. The Silver Arrows have ruled out quick negotiations for the time being. “He is a four-time world champion, an integral person. You don’t wipe that off the table,” Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff told the “Standard” (Saturday edition). “And yet I am certain that Sebastian Vettel is not a real option.”
