While waiting for the game against Paraguay, for the last date of the Qualifiers, with the aim of securing the ticket for the playoff to Qatar 2022, the Peruvian Football Federation issued a statement in which it reported on the formal complaint made before the FIFA for the performance of the Brazilian referee, Anderson Daronco.

“The FPF informs that a forceful complaint was filed with FIFA last Friday regarding the actions of referee Anderson Daronco, due to publicly known facts,” reads a part of the note.

It should be remembered that the Incas shouted to heaven for the play in which the Uruguayan goalkeeper, Sergio Rochet, caught a long ball almost inside his goal. For the Peruvians, the ball crossed the goal line, while from the VAR they indicated that it did not and even the Conmebol Referees Commission described the final decision as “correct”.

“The FPF expects a prompt response from FIFA under a regular procedure in its procedures. Meanwhile, the Peruvian National Team continues its preparation focused on the transcendental match against the Paraguayan team on March 29,” it can be read below.

With 21 points in 17 games, Peru occupies the fifth position in the table, for now in the playoff zone, a place that will confirm if it wins against Paraguay, this Tuesday in Lima, without depending on another result.
