After the second session, Max Verstappen topped the scoreboard just like in the morning. With a 1.28.330 he was the fastest man of the day and had a lead of 0.4 seconds over Charles Leclerc. The Mercedes duo followed more than half a second behind.
In the morning there was hardly any grip on Istanbul Park, in the afternoon it was already a bit better. Yet the drivers were still more than three seconds slower than the fastest time in 2011. Despite the slippery track, it was a positive day, Verstappen also notes.

“The track was even smoother than in Portimao and we are at least five seconds slower than we think we can be. But of course that applies to everyone,” said Verstappen.
