Caracas: Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has said that modern Israel is receiving the same encouragement, funding and support from the Western world that Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Germany received en masse before World War II.
His remarks came on Maduro Plus, a TV show hosted by Maduro himself, in support of Brazilian President Lula da Silva, who compared the genocide in Gaza to the Nazis’ lynching of Jews.
‘Powerful families in the US, Europe and London celebrated and supported Hitler’s rise to power in 1933. They encouraged him and gave him permission to kill my Jewish ancestors,’ Maduro said.
Maduro revealed in 2010 that his grandparents were Jewish and later converted to Catholicism.
‘Then the West remained silent. “Because they were preparing Hitler to take military action against the Soviet Union,” Maduro said.
Maduro also accused Hitler of being a savior created by the Western world.
He called for an end to the genocide against the Palestinians if there are Jews who still owe their roots to modern Israel repeating the same.
