Venezuela reports three new deaths from COVID-19 and 230 positive cases in 24 hours

Carabobo is once again left out of the daily statistics of the national government. Jorge Rodríguez reported three new deaths from coronavirus this Wednesday, July 1, 201 positive community cases and 29 imported, in the last 24 hours.

Despite the fact that today the mayor of Los Guayos municipality of Carabobo state released to the media two new positive cases for COVID-19, the state is not on the list of regions that continues the rigorous quarantine 7 + 7.

The sectoral vice president of Communication, Tourism and Culture explained that the deaths from COVID-19 were detected two in the Zulia states and one in La Guaira. The first was a 46-year-old lady and a 63-year-old lady, the latter a merchant from the Mercado Las Pulgas; and a 48-year-old third deceased from La Guaira, also a merchant of merchandise from Colombia. The fatal number now rises to 54 victims of the virus in the country.

Rodríguez highlighted that the community infected are; 120 men, 81 women and 15 minors.

The Venezuelan health authorities indicate a total number of infections of 6.062, while the number of recovered patients amounts to 1.649, of which a total of 1.338 they recovered during the month of June.

About community cases

  • Zulia: 156 cases, of which 70 correspond to the focus of the Mercado Las Pulgas and 86 in the rest of the state.
  • Capital district: 22 cases of which 6 are from the Sucre parish, 2 from the San Juan parish, 2 from the La Vega parish, 2 from Altagracia, 2 from Antímano, 1 La Candelaria, 1 from Caricuao, 1 from Coche, 1 Junquito, 1 from El Recreo, 1 El Valle, 1 La Pastora, while the latter lives in the Miranda state but works in Caracas, where he was detected.
  • Bolivar: 11 cases of which 7 correspond to the Gran Sabana municipality.
  • Miranda: 7 cases, of which 4 were detected in the Sucre municipality and 3 in the Baruta municipality.
  • Aragua: 3 cases registered in the municipalities of Santiago Mariño, Girardot and Mario Briceño Iragorry.
  • Lara: 1 case involving a 12-year-old girl from the Morán municipality, in El Tocuyo.
  • Merida: 1 case is a 46-year-old male in the Alberto Adriani municipality in El Vigía.

About imported cases

These correspond to 16 compatriots that arrived from Colombia, 11 from Brazil, 1 from Bolivia and 1 from Peru.

The also Minister for Communication and Information reported that of the 4,359 active cases to date, 3,699 are admitted to hospitals, 609 in Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI), 51 in private clinics.

Regarding the current condition of the patients, he reported that 3,894 are asymptomatic, 448 have mild acute insufficiency, 6 moderate acute failure and 11 with severe acute failure.

Referring to the number of COVID-19 screening tests applied in the country, he said that until Wednesday the number amounts to 1,270,173, which is equivalent to 42,333 per million inhabitants.
