With the due authorization of the Venezuelan Government and through a humanitarian flight, this Wednesday 19-A, 290 Spanish citizens who were in Venezuela without having been able to return due to the restrictions of the covid-19 left for Madrid.

The aforementioned humanitarian flight, which also included other European citizens, was executed by the Iberia airline and authorized by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (Inac) of Venezuela.

Coordination with the Venezuelan State was in charge of the Spanish consulate in Caracas.

Inac reported, through its web portal, that all air procedures, in the midst of the aeronautical restrictions typical of the pandemic, have absolutely all the necessary biosecurity measures for the flights to be carried out.

After passing all the health controls at the Simón Bolívar de Maiquetía international airport, in La Guaira state, the aforementioned citizens left for Europe aboard an Airbus A330 on flight number 6674.

The Venezuelan aeronautical institution announced on August 12 the restriction of its air operations, at least until September 12, a measure that seeks to maintain the strict epidemiological control measures ordered by the central government.

However, in the restriction itself, operations in a state of emergency, cargo and mail flights, technical landings, humanitarian flights, repatriation or flights authorized by the United Nations were exempted, a category that provided the legal framework for the approval of repatriation of the 290 Spaniards to Madrid.
