VEF Culture Palace invites you to feel the closeness of culture at the “Culture Waiting Stop” / Article / LSM.lv

For years, the cultural sector in Latvia has been in a “waiting mode”, which has undeniably influenced and changed many everyday lives. A symbolic place for enjoying culture was opened on the stairs of VEF Culture Palace on March 17 with an invitation to stop for a daily run – an environmental object “Culture Waiting Stop”, which offers every passer-by to listen to music and feel the closeness of culture outside the closed concert halls. Music from concerts organized by VEF Culture Palace in the cycles “Come Prima” and “VEF Jazz club” will be played at the stop created by scenographer Kristīne Jurjāne.

Antra Dreģe, project manager of VEF Culture Palace, said that the installation was originally created within the framework of “White Night” for a show with a story of peace and love, but “this is the club’s third outing as a cultural waiting stop”.

“This frame teaches us to get out of the frame. Because we know that for all situations – they already potentially hide the solution. We simply look at things creatively, freely and try to live a full life in the frame as well, ”said Sandra Zandberga, the artistic director of VEF Culture Palace.

Musicians Agnese Egliņa and Guntars Freibergs were among the first to stop at the “Culture Waiting Stop”. They will give a free online concert “Spirit and Dance” at VEF Culture Palace this Friday. The musicians said that the concert will feature spring and a gorgeous program – Arvo Pērts, Astors Pjacolla, Imants Zemzars.

The “Culture Waiting Stop” will be available to visitors around the clock until April 6.
